Prismm Is Shutting Down: Sunset Timeline & Free Migration for Wedding Venues

Updated October 2026: Cvent has moved the Prismm shutdown from December 31, 2026 to June 2027. The timeline below follows Cvent's current migration FAQ.

The short answer: Prismm, the floor plan and event-design tool formerly known as Allseated, was acquired by Cvent in April 2025, and Cvent now plans to end Prismm access in June 2027. The phase-out is already under way: since August 26, 2026, new events can only be created in Cvent Event Diagramming, while existing Prismm events stay editable until June 2027 and then become view-only. Cvent is moving customers to Cvent Event Diagramming (formerly Social Tables), but templates, favorites, and object groups do not move with them.

Seated With Love offers wedding venues a different path: a floor plan tool that is free for venues, with a done-for-you rebuild of your existing plans, templates, and inventory, also free, typically delivered within two weeks.

What happened to Allseated?

Allseated rebranded as Prismm in January 2024. In April 2025, Cvent acquired Prismm; terms were not disclosed. Cvent already owned a diagramming product, Social Tables, now called Cvent Event Diagramming, and that is where Prismm customers are being migrated.

Is Prismm being discontinued?

Yes, as a standalone platform. Per Cvent's own migration resources, the timeline is:

• May 13, 2026: Prismm accounts move to Cvent Event Diagramming
• August 26, 2026: new events can only be created in Cvent Event Diagramming
• Now through June 2027: existing Prismm events stay editable
• June 2027: Prismm access ends; your Prismm work stays viewable, but not editable, in Cvent

Cvent says it moved the date to give its product team time to close feature gaps customers raised. Cvent also says paid Prismm customers keep their current plans, prices, and limits unless they choose a new Cvent Event Diagramming plan. The disruption is not primarily about price. It is about the migration itself.

What actually happens to my floor plans and templates?

This is the part that matters for a working venue, straight from Cvent's migration FAQ:

• Prismm events dated January 1, 2022 or later remain viewable in Cvent Event Diagramming
• Cvent's FAQ does not say older events carry over, so export anything dated before January 1, 2022 that you want to keep
• Templates, favorite objects, and groups will not be moved and must be recreated by hand in the new tool

For a venue with years of refined layouts, a tuned inventory of tables and chairs, and templates for every package it sells, "the events move but the templates do not" means rebuilding the working core of the tool from scratch, during wedding season, inside a product with a corporate-events lineage.

What a wedding venue needs in a replacement

The floor plan workflow comes down to the same list at nearly every venue:

• Templates for your standard layouts that every new event starts from
• Your real inventory: your tables, chairs, arches, and bars, with counts tracked so a layout cannot exceed what you own
• Fast editing: copy and paste, exact-spacing row distribution, minimum-distance warnings, chair-level control per table
• A couple-facing view where couples preview layouts, choose one, or edit within your rules, with anything they add tracked separately from your inventory
• Clean handoff: printable, shareable plans your team and vendors work from on event day

That is the replacement checklist, and it is what the Seated With Love floor plan tool does today, free for venues.

How the migration to Seated With Love works

The gap nobody else fills is not the software. It is the labor of reconstruction. So we do it for you:

1. Export your plans from Prismm before access ends in June 2027 (we can help you get everything out, including events from before 2022).
2. Send us what you have; PDFs in a zip file are fine.
3. We rebuild every unique layout as an editable floor plan, free of charge. Your templates, venue spaces, inventory, and preferred vendors are set up as part of the rebuild.
4. You get your plans back, editable, typically within two weeks.
5. Invite your couples by email; a four-minute walkthrough video trains them so your team does not have to.

What it costs after migration

Nothing, for venues. Seated With Love is free for venues; revenue comes from the couple side, through the registry program (which venues share in) and hotel-booking affiliates on couple websites. There is no per-user pricing and no per-venue pricing.

Do I have to switch my whole stack?

No. The platform is modular. Turn on only the floor plan tool; couples never see features you leave off. Venues that start with floor plans tend to turn on the wedding website, RSVP sync, and registry later because they live under one roof, but nothing requires it.

When does Prismm shut down?

Is there a free Prismm alternative for wedding venues?

Can I migrate my existing Prismm floor plans?

What happens to Prismm events older than 2022?

Cvent Event Diagramming shows your Prismm events dated January 1, 2022 and later. Cvent's FAQ does not say older events carry over, so export anything older you want to keep before June 2027, whatever tool you move to. We can help with the export.

Prismm vs. Cvent Event Diagramming: what changes?

Same owner, different product. CED (formerly Social Tables) carries your recent events over, but templates and favorites must be recreated, and the product's lineage is corporate events and hotel ballrooms rather than independent wedding venues.

Can couples see or edit the floor plan?

Your choice, per event: preview-and-choose from your templates, or full edit access within your inventory, with couple-added items flagged for your team.

Can I use just the floor plan tool?

Yes. Every feature switches off independently, and couples never see what is off.

Does my team have to train couples?
